«Cycle de Formation en Présentiel» (Campus-based Teaching Track)

Of the Paris Observatory

I have been responsible for the Campus based Teaching Track («Cycle de Formation en Présentiel») of the Paris Observatory for 5 years (2015-20). This encompasses two «Diplômes d’Université» that are dedicated to the general public. The required level is a scientific high school degree. Check out our webpages to learn more about these degrees.

I have also been responsible for the «first-year» Diplome d’Université «Explorer et Comprendre l’Univers» (DU ECU) for 7 years. Amongst other things, I am still teaching the basics of optics and instrumentation (9hr-class) for this degree.

Students & Postdocs Supervision

I have been/am a co-supervisor of the following PhD Thesis:

  • Dr Karen Disseau (defended in 2015), who worked on the evolution of the LSB galaxies and on simulations of E-ELT observations (see manuscript in French here)
  • Dr Tabatha Sauvaget (defended in 2017), who worked on the formation of bulgeless and pseudo-bulged galaxies (see Manuscript in French here).

I have also supervised several PostDocs: Dr Yanbin Yang, Dr Myriam Rodrigues, and Dr K. Disseau in the frame of the COMPASS ANR Project. I also worked with Dr J. Japelj, Dr H. Rahmani, and Dr J.L. Wang in simulating the MOSAIC future surveys.
